Trump claims Manafort "can't get a fair treason trial in the U.S." due to "American jurors prejudice against traitors"

MOSCOW -- On Monday, failed candidate Donald Trump issued tweets of support for Paul Manafort, claiming that his deeply corrupt former campaign manager "cannot get a fair trial in the United States." Trump urged Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller to move Manafort's trial to someplace with a flourishing, healthy justice system, suggesting Russia as the ideal venue.

“American jurors will be hopelessly prejudiced against Manafort. NO WAY he can get a fair trial in the United States,” Trump said.

Last week, Robert Mueller indicted Manafort for committing approximately three billion felony crimes, including money-laundering, lying to federal agents, conspiring against the United States, and “being a contemptible shitbag in general.”

This morning, Trump, who lost November's election to President Hillary Rodham Clinton by a resounding margin of 3 million votes despite Russian interference, passionately defended Manafort on social media, calling him a "swell guy who's really smart about money, furs and international banking" and insisting that “he’s a model citizen. His loyalty to the Kremlin is beyond reproach.”
