New York Times slams Clinton for giving "yet another excellent press conference"

WASHINGTON D.C. -- While Politifact rated President Hillary Rodham Clinton’s latest press conference a "substantive, truthful, and intellectually commanding performance," powerful media organizations like the New York Times are impugning Clinton's polite, highly professional interactions with the media as "regrettably informative" and “uniquely terrible reality TV.”

On Saturday, the Times' Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Maureen Dowd lambasted Clinton's measured, accurate and extensively researched answers to journalists' questions about Medicaid expansion as "damning evidence of how hard she tries."

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal's Peggy Noonan writes that after a lengthy conversation with her taxi driver, the former Reagan speechwriter was forced to conclude that Clinton "fails to want to be Reagan."  

Some media criticism was less lofty.

A TMZ reporter complained, “Clinton didn’t once yell, make personal attacks on the journalists present, or say any immediately provable falsehoods. Nobody’s going to watch this shit.”

White House Press Secretary Leslie Jones waved off the criticism, saying President Clinton, “eagerly awaits the next press conference because President Clinton is basically the best.”
