Casey Affleck quits Oscar race to work on attitudes towards women

LOS ANGELES — Variety is reporting that Casey Affleck is quitting the Oscar race to work on his “admittedly horrifying attitudes towards women.”

In a statement, the actor said after reading Constance Wu’s Twitter feed and being sued for sexual harassment twice he realized he “has a lot of work to do.”

The Manchester by the Sea actor said Denzel Washington deserved to win.
