Johnny Depp apologizes for spousal abuse, Pirates of the Caribbean movies

FRENCH VILLAGE - Variety is reporting that actor Johnny Depp has issued an apology for physically abusing his former wife, the actress Amber Heard, and "repeated instances of metaphorical violence to beloved works of children's literature."

Depp's apology specifically mentions the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, the Alice in Wonderland sequel, and his recent cameo in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as egregious examples of "my cynical greed gone wild."

Sources say that Amber Heard and Harry Potter fans are "unimpressed."
