OPINION -- I guess Obama never took our guns after all

I guess Obama never took our guns after all. Weird.

During those sad years under President O’Bummer, I feared for my rights, particularly my right to own a Bushmaster XM15-E2S semi-automatic rifle.  I thank God that those long years are over.  Nevertheless, now that Obama is out of office without ever having sent even one soldier to my house, I’ve started to question myself.

On one night a few years ago, I heard someone on Fox News say that President O'Drama was going to confiscate and destroy all civilian firearms.  The next day, I went and bought as much ammo as I could pile into my pickup. I filled up the bed, the passenger seat and floor, the dashboard, and even my lap as I drove home.

When people said that our Kenyan president would set up a caliphate based on Sharia law, I initially felt skeptical, but also figured that it would be better to be safe than sorry. Like a lot of people, I went into debt to buy the gear I felt I needed to protect my home and family. I felt the panic during the ammunition shortages. I drove from gun store to gun store and bought every bullet I could get my hands on. Some of it doesn’t even fit the guns I own. I figured I’d eventually own every type of gun anyway.

Now I’m beginning to wonder if was even necessary to buy all this ammunition, not to mention my backup rifle and my backup-backup rifle and my bathroom rifle and my ankle-holster pistol and my claymore mines. Nobody ever even tries to break into my house. So I can’t help but wonder what else I was wrong about. I’ve come to question so many things, so frequently, that sometimes, late at night, I even wonder: Was Obama actually born in Kenya?
