In Tweet, Trump thanks Putin for "generous gift" of Samsung televisions

MOSCOW -- While Donald J. Trump has been accusing former President Barack Obama and FBI Director James Comey of wire-tapping his New York City penthouse, office and cell phone, the failed presidential candidate says he "loves, loves, loves" the Samsung smart televisions that Russian President Vladimir Putin has "very generously" given him.

"One is hanging in my bedroom - the master suite - to cover the hole in the wall I made with a sledgehammer when I was searching for Obama's wiretaps," Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

"Great sound quality," he continued.

The Russian President's gifts started coming in 2015, when Trump returned home to New York after a two-week business trip to Russia in which he thrice dined with the Russian President. On Trump's arriving at Trump Tower, he discovered a large gift box in the lobby - one so large, he struggled to untie the giant bow with his tiny hands. After staff intervened, the box turned out to contain three state of the art Samsung smart TVs.

In 2015, Trump tweeted his approval, writing: “Just returned from Russia. Great country. The nice President, Vladimir, sent me 3 smart tv.s I am smart. Great guy!!!”

A Russian spokesperson told RT that Putin hopes Trump is enjoying the gift, "as much as we are."
