In online poll, Vladimir Putin wins People.com's “Sexiest Man Alive” title after one Russian IP address votes 930 million times

NEW YORK –- The famed celebrity magazine People announced Sunday morning that editors had been ready to name Vladimir Putin the “Sexiest Man Alive” thanks to his overwhelming victory in an online reader poll until one technician noticed that nearly 100 percent of his votes came from a single Russian IP address based in the Kremlin.

Russian leaders deny attempting to rig the contest, though Kremlin press officers apparently sent People's New York office more than 425 photos featuring the leader posing without a shirt last week, along with a personal note from the Russian leader that reads: "Thank you for this honor in advance. I love American elections."

Previous winners of the "Sexiest Man Alive" title include Hugh Jackman, Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, and Peter Dinklage.

With the revelation of voter fraud, People has awarded the title of “Sexiest Man Alive” to runner-up Joe Biden, who says he is “humbled” by so many women over 50 "care enough to vote."
